Bedford is built differently than the city next door

- Radon in water. The same granite that produces airborne radon also carries it dissolved in well water, and every shower, dishwasher cycle, and flush releases some of it into the air you breathe. We strip it out with an aeration system before it ever reaches the house, which also lowers the radon load in your indoor air.
- PFAS. Parts of the Merrimack corridor, Bedford included, saw PFAS reach private wells, and the state's response ran from bottled water to permanent wellhead treatment.
