What furnace install costs in Nashua, NH

$7,300 to $8,000

The middle half of the 12 furnace replacements we completed in Nashua, as of October 2026. A quarter came in under $7,300 and a quarter ran above $8,000.

That is our own job history in Nashua, NH, not a national average and not a teaser price. It excludes sales tax. We publish it because you cannot plan around "call for pricing," and because a number we have to stand behind keeps us honest. Your quote is fixed before any work starts, and what moves it is covered below.

The tightest band on this site, and why

The middle half of our Nashua furnace replacements falls inside about $700. No other town we publish is that predictable, and the reason is fuel.

Of the Nashua jobs where we recorded a heating fuel, natural gas came up more often than oil and propane combined, and by a clear margin. It is the most gas-connected town in our New Hampshire footprint. A gas-to-gas furnace replacement in a house that already has working ductwork and a usable vent path is the most repeatable job in residential heating, and when most of the population is that job, the range is narrow.

What this means for you practically: if you are on gas in Nashua with existing forced air, you should expect a number close to the middle of our range, and you should be suspicious of a quote dramatically below it. There is not much room in this job for a legitimate bargain, so a very low price usually means something has been left out, most often the venting work or the permit.

Where a Nashua job does get more expensive

  • Going condensing from an atmospheric unit. A high-efficiency furnace vents in PVC out a sidewall rather than up the chimney. That is usually an improvement, but if the water heater was sharing that chimney it is now orphaned in an oversized flue and needs a liner. This is the most commonly omitted line on a cheap Nashua quote.
  • Duct faults. Undersized returns are the usual culprit behind a room that never gets warm.
  • Combustion air. Houses that have been air-sealed since the original installation often no longer meet the requirement.
  • Still on oil. A minority here, but if a main runs past your house, replacement is the moment to decide about converting rather than paying for the same labour twice later.

Sizing: the old label is the wrong answer

Most furnaces we remove are larger than the house now needs. Insulation, windows and roofing all cut the heating load over the years and the replacement rarely follows it down. An oversized furnace short-cycles, warms the hallway where the thermostat sits, and leaves the ends of the house behind.

We run a room-by-room heat loss calculation before quoting. It takes longer than reading the old nameplate and it is the difference between fixing the complaint and reproducing it with newer equipment.

Rebates, and what changed for 2026

The federal 25C energy-efficiency tax credit expired at the end of 2025, so there is no federal credit on a 2026 furnace replacement. New Hampshire incentives run through NHSaves and the amounts move between programme years. We confirm what is live when we quote.

How replacement day runs

One working day for the large majority of Nashua jobs. We protect the route in, remove the old unit, set and level the new one, make the gas connection, run the venting, wire the control and start up. Before we leave we check manifold pressure, temperature rise across the heat exchanger and static pressure in the ducts, and you get the readings, the registration and the permit close-out.
